Over 50
primary and secondary schools in Delta State have been built, renovated and
commissioned in the last three years by Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan’s
administration.
This was
disclosed during the commissioning of about six primary and secondary schools
in Warri metropolis by Governor
Uduaghan.
The governor said more
of such schools and other laudable projects will be constructed across the
state before the end of his administration.
Uduaghan urged the schools' pupils, students, teachers and other stakeholders in the communities where the projects are located to protect the buildings.
The
Commissioner In-charge of Special Infrastructures, Barr Orezi Esievo
said the schools were in a very deplorable state before government decided
to renovate and rehabilitate them as part of the administration's agenda.
On his part the
Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Prof Patrick Muoboghare stated
that, Nana Model College is one of the special 13 model colleges
built by the Uduaghan’s administration.
Some
of the communities’ leaders who spoke at the events promised to safeguard the
projects and lives of those occupying them.
