North-Eastern Governors Drum Support For Jonathan

Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo along side with his colleagues from the North-East geo-political zone of the country, have collectively agreed to support President Goodluck Jonathan.The decision, was necessitated by the President hand of friendship extended to the zone, by the provisional offer of N2billion made available to the zone in the 2014 budget.The amount as gathered is to be use in addressing certain peculiar problems presenting confronting the region which include the ongoing insurgency leading to loss of lives and massive destruction properties.
The action of Mr. President according to the governors who were visibly elated, would go a long way to assist them in improving the economy of the region, that has suffered great set back due to the ongoing security challenge in the area.Presenting the position of his entire colleagues from the zone, the host governor, Dr Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe state said:“We thank God that we have the commitment of Mr President, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
We are very grateful and want to extend our appreciation to him for making a provision for us in the draft 2014 budget that was sent to the National Assembly, even before we made any request.”Noting that the affected state governors have mapped out robust plans that would revive the stagnating economy of the region, the region, they said would forever remain indebted to the president stating that “We want to assure our people in the North-East and even Nigerians at large that we are committed and determined to take our region out of this war. We are sure that in the next two years, North-East region shall come out great.
”Governors Isa Yuguda of Bauchi and Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe as well as the Acting Governor of Taraba, Umar Garba were present at the occasion while others sent representatives.
